The chinese ink stone or "Duānyàn" combines the most basic materials, and transforms them into tools for creativity, calligraphy and art...plus I really like the colour red.

Hi! My name is Marc Allante and I started painting basically since I could hold a brush and pencil. I got extremely, stupidly lucky and had my artwork go viral online, which allowed me to quit my corporate job to do what I love everyday - whilst making a comfortable living by selling my art. I created Red Ink Stone as I wanted to provide a modern day guide and resource to help artists achieve more, and make a sustainable and profitable living doing what they love.  Distilling my own experiences selling in galleries, to galleries, online and offline, as well as interviewing established independent artists worlwide - my hope is that the site is an informative exploration into the best ways in which artists can survive and thrive today.
